Our story
ChainLedger Academy was founded in 2021 by a small group of researchers and educators who saw a growing gap between public interest in blockchain technology and the quality of information available online. Much of the existing content was promotional, speculative, or technically inaccurate. We set out to build something different.
Our founders had backgrounds in distributed systems, cryptography, and academic publishing. They shared a conviction that technical concepts could be explained clearly without oversimplifying them, and that educational content should be free from commercial influence.
Since launching, we have published over 80 original articles and guides, built a glossary covering more than 150 blockchain terms, and assembled a small but dedicated editorial team. Every piece of content goes through a structured review process before publication.
We are registered as ChainLedger Academy Ltd in England and Wales (Company No. 14823671) and operate from our office at 71 Queen Victoria Street in the City of London. We do not sell courses, manage portfolios, or promote token projects. Our sole focus is education.

Three principles guide everything we publish.
Accuracy above all
Every claim we make is backed by primary sources, peer-reviewed research, or official documentation. If we cannot verify a statement, we do not publish it. When the evidence is inconclusive, we say so explicitly.
Neutral perspective
We do not advocate for or against any blockchain project, digital asset, or technology. Our role is to explain how things work, present different viewpoints fairly, and let readers form their own conclusions.
Free and open access
All of our content is available without registration, paywalls, or mandatory email sign-ups. We believe educational resources about emerging technologies should be accessible to everyone who wants to learn.
Editorial principles
Our editorial policy is documented internally and guides every stage of content creation. Here is a summary of the standards we hold ourselves to.
Source verification
We cite primary sources wherever possible: protocol documentation, academic papers, government reports, and official regulatory guidance. Secondary sources are cross-referenced before inclusion. We never cite anonymous social media posts or unverified claims as fact.
Peer review
Every article undergoes at least one internal peer review. Technical articles are reviewed by a team member with domain expertise. Regulatory content is reviewed by our policy analyst. We maintain a revision log for each published piece.
Language standards
We write in neutral, plain English. We avoid promotional language, superlatives, and speculative statements. If a topic is debated, we present multiple perspectives without endorsing one over another. We do not use language that could be interpreted as financial advice.
Corrections policy
If we discover an error, or if a reader reports one, we investigate promptly. Confirmed errors are corrected and a note is appended to the article describing the nature of the correction and the date it was made. We do not silently edit published content.
No conflicts of interest
Team members are required to disclose any personal holdings in digital assets if they write about a related topic. We do not accept sponsored articles, paid reviews, or affiliate arrangements. No external party has editorial influence over our content.
Research methodology
How we gather, validate, and present information.
Primary source research
We start with protocol whitepapers, official documentation, and published academic research. For regulatory topics, we reference guidance published directly by bodies such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), HM Treasury, and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
Cross-referencing
No claim is published based on a single source. We cross-reference information across multiple independent sources before presenting it as fact. Where sources disagree, we note the discrepancy and explain the different positions.
Regular content reviews
Blockchain technology and its regulatory environment evolve rapidly. We review published articles on a rolling basis and update them when significant changes occur. Each article displays a "Last reviewed" date so readers know how current the information is.
Fact-checking protocol
Before publication, each article goes through a structured fact-checking step. Technical claims are verified against protocol source code or official documentation. Statistical claims are traced to their original data source. Any claim that cannot be independently verified is removed or clearly labelled as unconfirmed.
